Character Profiles:

St. Rudolph
Name: Mizuki Hajime
Seiyuu: Ishida Akira
Height: 166 cm
Birthdate: May 27
Age during Prince of Tennis: 15
Bloodtype: B
Kim says: He's evil and he's gay. I don't think Liberace would wear the clothes he wears, which is saying a lot.

Rachel says: I never understood before what people meant when they said they loved to hate a character. Generally, I always either loved or hated a character, not both. Mizuki though, I love to hate. I know part of the reason I love him is the wonderful job his seiyuu Ishida Akira does. Mizuki is just so slimey, evil, and pathetic at the same time. His victim of choice, appears to be Yuuta, since Yuuta is probably one of the more naïve characters in Prince of Tennis. Mizuki, in some respects, is the most evil character in Prince of Tennis. He manipulates his teammates and thinks nothing of sacrificing them for his personal short-term gains. I think Mizuki appears to be a tad obsessed with the Fuji brothers. (Which is probably the pot calling the kettle black) While I do like Mizuki and his evil antics, I would not trust the boy as far as I could throw him.

Name: Fuji Yuuta
Seiyuu: Tomita Makoto
Height: 170 cm
Birthdate: February 18
Age during Prince of Tennis: 13
Bloodtype: O
Rachel says: I could spend hours waxing poetic on Fuji Yuuta/Yuuta who is probably my current favorite character in Prince of Tennis. When Yuuta first enters, he appears gruff and somewhat mean, we quickly learn that he has sibling rivalry issues. Though it's clear from flashbacks and from Yuuta's change of heart part way through the St. Rudolph's arc, that he really does love his brother. All he really wants is his own identity outside of his brother's shadow and I also think he wants his brother to notice him. (Poor Yuuta, I don't think he realizes how much his brother really does think about him.) Yuuta is blunt, forthright, sensitive, short-tempered and naïve. Mizuki rather easily takes advantage of Yuuta's innocence, but even under Mizuki's sway, Yuuta will not do things he thinks are morally wrong. I think in some respects, Yuuta is one of the more innocent characters in Prince of Tennis. Contrary to how he is often portrayed in fan-fiction, Yuuta really does care about his brother a lot, though like his brother, he is also a very private person and doesn't like it when attention is drawn to his feelings. Despite his bluntness, Yuuta is a polite boy, using "san" or "sempai" for all the characters older than him. (Which is pretty much every character except the first years.) He listens to everything his brother says and even though he is argumentative at times, he doesn't seem to be able to really refuse his brother anything. ^o^ I adore Yuuta, and I personally find his relationship with his brother highly suspect.

Kim says: Sometimes, I wish he would die. So Rachel would shut up about him for 5 minutes.

Name: Akazawa Yoshiroh
Seiyuu: Iwasaki Masami
Height: 178 cm
Birthdate: August 3
Age during Prince of Tennis: 14 turns 15 sometime before Nationals.
Bloodtype: O
Kim says: ROAR!!

Rachel says: Akazawa is the captain of St. Rudolph's tennis team. He's actually a decent player and the prior year he won his single's match against Seigaku's player. While, Akazawa might not be a bad tennis player, he is not a very good captain. He's given too much power to the team's evil manager Mizuki, and Akazawa himself seems somewhat evil. He knows that Mizuki is taking advantage of Yuuta and doesn't really care. His biggest concern is making sure the team doesn't at some point lose one of its better players. Akazawa isn't above using any trick he has to increase his chances for victory on the court. I actually find Akazawa somewhat amusing.

Name: Yanagisawa Shinya
Seiyuu: Mori Norihisa
Height: 169 cm
Birthdate: December 9
Age during Prince of Tennis: 14 1/2
Bloodtype: O

Rachel says: Yanagisawa is famous for the fact that he ends nearly every sentence with the word "dane." He's doubles partners with Kisarazu, and the two seem relatively close as they use each other's first names. I think Yanagisawa isn't always good at knowing when he's gone too far and I think he tries to be the comic relief on this relatively evil and at times angsty team. It's really funny watching him stick his nose into Momoshiro's argument with Kamio and watching him encourage Yuuta to do completely ridiculous things during the Hyotei arc. I actually like Yanagisawa despite his "dane"'s.

Kim says: Ducky!! I love Ducky!! (And fight for his true love with Atsushi. His, dammit, his!)

Name: Kisarazu Atsushi
Seiyuu: Tsuruoka Satoshi
Height: 168 cm
Birthdate: November 20
Age during Prince of Tennis: 14 turning 15 in the Fall
Bloodtype: O
Kim says: I don't care about this character.

Rachel says: The more acrobatic member of the doubles partnership he forms with Yanagisawa, Kisarazu is actually relatively quiet. Perhaps, this is because his partner is so much more vocal and interested in attention. We know that Kisarazu has a twin brother who also plays tennis, but unfortunately, we never get to find out why they attend different schools or anything about their relationship. I think Kisarazu is pretty, but he has a lot less personality than Yanagisawa. They make a very good doubles pair though.

Name: Kaneda Ichiroh
Seiyuu: Kawahara Yoshihisa (See Tachibana on Fudomine)
Height: 163 cm
Birthdate: December 31
Age during Prince of Tennis: 13 1/2
Bloodtype: AB
Rachel says: Kaneda is the other second year on St. Rudolph's team and he seems completely devoted to his sempai Akazawa because they are from the same town. I think Kaneda has the possibility of becoming a pretty good player, but at the moment, doesn't have the confidence that requires. I like Kaneda, he seems very sweet, though I feel bad for him, since he seems to have a crush on Akazawa who I think is somewhat evil.

Kim says: I don't care about this character.

Name: Nomura Takuya
Seiyuu: Kondou Takayuki (See also Oishi on Seigaku)
Height: 158 cm
Birthdate: February 22
Age during Prince of Tennis: 14
Bloodtype: B
Rachel says: Nomura, like Yanagisawa doesn't know when his teasing has gone too far and seems to particularly have this problem when it comes to Yuuta. In fact, the only times we really get to see Nomura, are when he's doing something to upset Yuuta or when he's being a coward about playing Tezuka in tennis. Other than Ginka, (in the anime) Nomura is the only player who we ever see show signs of cowardice. Everyone else always seems up to the challenge, even when they are completely outgunned. Nomura is probably my least favorite member of St. Rudolph's.

Kim says: This guy was in PoT?
