Seigaku
Name: Echizen Ryoma
Seiyuu: Mingawa Junko
Height: 151 cm
Birthdate: December 24
Age during Prince of Tennis: 12 1/2
Bloodtype: O
Family: Father, Mother and Older Female Cousin
Rachel says: Snarky and talented, I think Ryoma secretly has a good heart and a very strict sense of morals. However, he has no compunctions against trying to piss people off and sometimes goes out of his way to be overly obnoxious. He doesn't seem terribly good at getting close to people, and his strongest connection appears to be to his cat Karupin. Extremely bright, I also get the feeling that despite not appearing to work hard in his classes, Ryoma has stellar grades. My biggest problem with Ryoma is that he always wins, which makes him very hard to relate to.

Kim says: He's your atypical sports hero, if Ryoma was in any other sports series, he'd be the villain, which I find interesting. His snarkiness is cute, but as of late he's been grating on my nerves as he turning into the "can do no wrong omnipotent" main character.

Name: Tezuka Kunimitsu
Seiyuu: Okiayu Ryoutarou
Height: 179 cm
Birthdate: October 7
Age during Prince of Tennis: 14 turning 15 in the Fall
Bloodtype: O
Family: Grandfather, Father, and Mother
Kim says: Tezuka is noble and stoic blah blah blah. I think he's incredibly boring.

Rachel says: Completely committed to seeing Seigaku win Nationals, Tezuka is willing to sacrifice himself for what he perceives as the good of the team. He's the strong and silent type and he seems particularly interested in Seigaku's newest regular, Ryoma. I also think he seems very interested in Momoshiro, probably because he sees Momoshiro as Seigaku's likely captain after he graduates. In all honesty though, I find Tezuka one of the dullest characters in Prince of Tennis.

Name: Oishi Syuichiroh
Seiyuu: Kondou Takayuki
Height: 175 cm
Birthdate: April 30
Age during Prince of Tennis: 15
Bloodtype: O
Family: Father, Mother and Younger Sister
Rachel says: Mother to Seigaku, Oishi worries about all the other players on the team. He seems relatively normal at first, but of course isn't. In later episodes, we get to see that he has a warped sense of humor and a nasty temper when he is under stress. He's generally the more mature member of the 'Golden Pair.' I'm actually rather fond of Oishi. To me, he's the sort of person one would want to marry, not that this is really much of an option.

Kim says: Oishi's mother hen nature and quiet confidence and well, niceness, is always so underrated, and that's sad, cause I rather like him.

Name: Fuji Syusuke
Seiyuu: Kaida Yuki
Height: 167 cm
Birthdate: February 29
Age during Prince of Tennis: 14
Bloodtype: B
Family: Father, Mother, Older Sister and Younger Brother (See Fuji Yuuta)

Kim says: Anything but meek mannered and sweet like his appearance belies, Fuji is one scary boy to deal with. Openly admitting to loving other's pain and humiliating opponents on the tennis court, he's Seigaku's nastier side.

Rachel says: Fuji is one of the better players on Seigaku. However I think, he is also rather lazy and doesn't appear to really play his best unless he has a specific reason. He appears relatively easy going and smiles a lot, but I think it's a way for him to distance himself from others. He's friendly, but he doesn't seem to really like to share anything personal about himself. I also think he has a jealous and possessive streak a mile wide, which particularly comes into play in regards to his brother Yuuta. Fuji thinks about his little brother a lot, and I admit, I think he thinks and loves his brother in much more than just brotherly ways. I'm very very fond of Fuji, probably in part because I like to slash him with Yuuta. (And also because I'm doing a LJ as Fuji.)

Name: Kikumaru Eiji
Seiyuu: Takahashi Hiroki
Height: 171 cm
Birthdate: November 28
Age during Prince of Tennis: 14 turning 15 in the Fall
Bloodtype: A
Family: Grandfather, Grandmother, Father, Mother, Two Older Brothers and Two Older Sisters
Rachel says: Acrobatic and mischievous, Kikumaru is the other half of the 'Golden Pair.' Kikumaru isn't always good at knowing when to stop a joke and has a tendency to be a bit tactless. However, he's also grown both as a person and a player during Seigaku's journey to the Nationals. I think he's probably relatively bright, but is also rather lazy and easily distracted. He'd much rather be having fun, and he's not one of those types of people who can still pull everything together without having worked at all. Kikumaru is one of the characters I have mixed feelings towards. I think he and Oishi make an adorable couple, but Kikumaru in the anime gets on my nerves sometimes. I did think it was hilarious when he sang 'Keep on Dreaming' in Episode 82.

Kim says: Eiji has slowly been growing on me as time by goes by. He's kinda like the obnoxious impish guy you always want to smack upside the head for being annoying and silly, but at the same time you find him funny. I much prefer manga!Eiji to anime!Eiji, as anime!Eiji has been reduced to a whining brat who doesn't evolve much.

Name: Inui Sadaharu
Seiyuu: Tsuda Kenjirou
Height: 184 cm
Birthdate: June 3
Age during Prince of Tennis: 14, turns 15 sometime before Nationals
Bloodtype: AB
Family: Father and Mother
Kim says: Inui is just damn funny. I love his very dry and sadistic sense of humour. Beyond him being amusing and fun, Inui is to be respected for his strict moral code and for the amount of effort he puts into everything he does. Come on, all that analyzing takes time and intelligence.

Rachel says: Inui is obsessive about collecting data. He uses his data to both help train his team mates to become better players and to counteract their strategies when he is playing them. But Inui is more than just a 'data-man', he also has a very strict moral code and holds himself to a very high standard. This comes into play when he and Kaidoh play against Ohtori and Shishido from Hyotei. Oddly enough, Inui also appears to be something of a gossip, maybe it's from collecting all that data. Originally, I didn't really like Inui at all, but he's slowly grown on me as the series has progressed. He'll never be one of my favorites, but I definitely respect him.

Name: Kawamura Takashi
Seiyuu: Kawamoto Naru
Height: 180 cm
Birthdate: November 18
Age during Prince of Tennis: 14 turning 15 in the Fall
Bloodtype: A
Family: Father, Mother and Younger Sister
Rachel says: Probably the nicest person in all of Prince of Tennis, Kawamura really cares about everyone else on the team. When he's not holding a racket, he's a shy, quiet, modest boy. However, when he holds a tennis racket a change comes over him and he starts to spout bad Engrish and becomes loud and even a tiny bit obnoxious. (But in a humorous way!) Kawamura respects his elders and is committed to helping his father. Perhaps because he is such an unassuming boy, most of the other characters are very informal with him and call him by a nickname. I like Kawamura. He's very sweet and I admit I'd love to find a doujinshi pairing him with Momo-chan. XD

Kim says: Taka is an absolute sweetheart, and I'm not sure how anyone could NOT like him, he's just that nice. And he's also really funny when he has his racket in hand. His Engrish is great!

Name: Momoshiro Takeshi
Seiyuu: Onosaka Masaya
Height: 170 cm
Birthdate: July 23
Age during Prince of Tennis: 13, turns 14 sometime before Nationals
Bloodtype: O
Family: Father, Mother, Younger Brother and Younger SIster
Kim says: My personal fave member of Seigaku, Momo is the charismatic rascal of the team, liked by everyone and always ready to smooth things over or make a joke. Momo is a lot deeper than that, and is actually very good with people and perceptive about how they work, which is why I think he's in line to be the next Seigaku captain. Momo also holds the distinction of being the only person to ever make Tezuka smile. We're talking Herculean effort here.

Rachel says: Loud, outgoing, and always ready with a joke, Momoshiro is the glue that holds Seigaku together. Despite his pride in his tennis skills, Momoshiro doesn't take himself too seriously and insists that even the first years use a nickname for him. When things fall apart, he's the sort of person you can count on and he stands up for what he believes no matter what the situation is. As the series progresses, we really get to see Momoshiro's tennis skills grow as well as his already considerable people skills. (Momoshiro is one of the few players in Prince of Tennis who doesn't appear to be slightly socially dysfunctional.) I have faith he will be a wonderful captain next year. I really like Momoshiro, he is almost always cheerful and usually has a sense of humor which helps make everything more interesting.

Name: Kaidoh Kaoru
Seiyuu: Kiyasu Kohei
Height: 173 cm
Birthdate: May 11
Age during Prince of Tennis: 14
Bloodtype: B
Family: Father, Mother, Younger Brother
Rachel says: Despite his gruff exterior and his habit of hissing like a snake, we find out relatively quickly that Kaidoh is really just a big kitten. Kaidoh is actually a very polite and traditional boy who seems to try and use a tough facade in order to protect himself. He's very easily embarrassed, which is really too bad, because the mangaka, anime script writers, and doujinshika all seem to like to make Kaidoh suffer horribly. If something painfully embarrassing is going to happen to someone in Prince of Tennis, chances are high it's going to happen to Kaidoh. I like Kaidoh, but I'm never sure if it's because I like him or because I enjoy seeing him suffer. ^o^

Kim says: Called "mamushi" by everyone because of his off putting behaviour, Kaidoh is actually rather sweet. Well, to everyone but Momo, who he is intense rivals with. They just haven't woken up and smelled the UST yet. Another of my favourite Seigaku characters, Kaidoh is incredibly dedicated to training and is the biggest uke on the show. Like...Taichi could probably top him if he put his mind to it.
